Why does Firefox use 40-80% CPU while idle?

Firefox 1.5 uses 40-80% CPU while idle. I have to close it just to play Counterstrike.

WTF? It's just a browser... that shouldn't be doing much of anything while idle...

Well, it could be Macromedia Flash in the background. My Opera does that too sometimes.

you have to have something else going on. when i just have firefox open, it goes between 0-4%

Close it down and restart it. It's buggy.
