I agree. he was instrumental in ending the Cold War between the U.S and Russia. He also helped stabilize the economy when inflation was going crazy in the mid 70's to early 80's . He was respected around the world as a good leader.

There has to be a duality to every president. One half has to deal with foreign affairs and necessarily has to be rather cut-throat to get things flowing right. Reagan did this superbly. The other half has to soft-shore domestic affairs and be as progressive as possible to his own people. Reagan did not this, superbly.Originally posted by: thomsbrain

i wouldn't call a stock market crash and racking up more debt than every single president who proceeded him COMBINED helping to "stablize the economy."

And does that include tubercolosis cases increasing from 1,500 cases in 1983 to 30,000 in 1990 as a result of his slashing of social services?
