paypal dont want it, exchangepath did and now they dumped it. Yahoo's Paydirect seems to be the only thing out there for discover card users
any info on this?
When ever you make a payment with a credit card the credit card company recieves a percentage of the sale from the store. For example if you go to CompUSA and buy a video card for $100 CompUSA will then pay VISA 1.9% of that $100 or $1.90. Discover takes out 3.9% of each purchase!!! So it makes more sense not to take Discover since you'll lose more money as a retailer. Hope this helps!
Not to mention, Discover lost a couple of lawsuits by comsumers regarding interest calculations. I couldn't pay it off fast enough and closed my account.
It doesn't make sense for merchants to hate Discover because it charges them less than any other card. When I bought the central air conditioner for my house, the only credit card that the contractor would take was Dicover because the others ate into the profits too much.
