Why does everyone from Ohio come to South Carolina?

I swear there are as many Ohio plates here as SC. Most of them are minivans. Is Ohio the place to be to have a family, buy a minivan, and drive to SC?

They are all over the place here in Kentucky too. My dad always said, Ohio people are like hemrroids, if they come down and then leave after a few, they are tolerable, but if they come down and stay, they are a pain in the ass!!

Have you guys stopped selling the one bumper sticker I saw there? It read "Hey Yankees! C'mon down, Spend your money, then GET THE HELL OUT!" Slap a few more of those on your cars and see if those Ohioians get the hint. 🙂

I've been to Columbia, Lexington, the Myrtle Beach area (and north up to Holden Beach NC), and they've all been nice places (except the traffic in Myrtle, horrendous!).

They want to be somewhere where they are considered intelligent? 😀

j/k, but I couldn't resist. 😉

Have you seen Ohio? 😉

j/k - I lived there for 4 years... some of it is nice. The Ohio valley is the armpit of America, though. Bleagh!

😀

Two thoughts on this subject...

1. If you think South Carolina is bad you should see Florida 🙁

2. As near as I can tell all of the roads in Ohio begin in Columbus and are "one way" I.E. OUT!

FWIW... I'm originally from Ohio. Been in Florida since 73. Planning a move to the northwest in 2002.

Parts of South Carolina are bad though that goes for most states. Charleston is apparently very nice, and the areas AROUND Myrtle Beach are nice (Pawley's Island, for example). I have nothing against the state really, but it was just too good of an oppurtunity to pass up. 😀

w00t! Finally, someone else from SC! I'm in Greenville (live near Furman) and see you live in Simpsonville. I was just there last week to pay a speeding ticket :disgust: I'm not quite used to the roads there, and I was on West Georgia Rd going 55 in a 35 - whoops.

As far as the Ohioans are concerned, maybe it's National Ohio Minivan week here :disgust: I've noticed the same thing!

Ouch. Yeah, W. Georgia can be a real trap. Haven't been caught there myself yet, but I expect the wife will any day now - travels it everyday.

If I could find a good paying job near Greenwood/Waterloo SC I would be moving in a heartbeat. Prob not known as a "nice" area but I liked it, and the people too.
