-Because of his ambigous sexuality
-Because he's rich
-Because he's famous
-Those damn glittery/sequined costumes I'm so insanely jealous of (oops I put that in print didn't I)

Me too. Esp No. 4.

i just want to see the video of him getting dragged offstage like a ragdoll in a dogs mouth.
I think tigers are consider "cats"
This is true. However, I haven't seen cats carry ragdolls around in their mouths. Hence, if the simile he had used was "like a ragdoll in a cats mouth," it wouldn't make any sense. :)
Actually, one of my cats does that. Has a little ragdoll she likes to play with and carry around in her mouth.

I didn't find it funny, I thought it was poetic justice. Tigers are not Cocker Spaniels, they're not trained with a pocket of kibble and belly rubs for good behavior. Lions and tigers (and bears, oh my!) are trained through negative reinforcement. The tools of the trade are whips, chains, electirc cattle prods, baseball bats and any other blunt object handy. Animals DO NOT learn to respond to the whip and chair on stage unless they are trained to fear the whip and chair off stage. Siegfried and Roy got rich by systematically beating the animals to force them to comply. Suddenly when a wild animal causes some damage to a person that's been abusing it for all it's life the bleeding hearts feel that it's a shock and a tragedy. Kick a dog a few hundred times, you can get it to obey and even lick your hand. But on one of those kicks the dog is going to remember that it has teeth and the part of the DNA that's still feral will know how to use those teeth. How much sympathy do think you'd get when the dog sank it's teeth into your ass? Roy is not getting any sympathy from me, that's reserved for innocent victims.

Why did so many feel it funny picturing Iraqis throwing down their weapons and running as they were being attacked?

People forgot that little tidbit.

How could it not be funny? You spend your whole life antagonizing animals for a living and the coin's bound do drop tails (pun intended- or should I say necks?) sometime. Actually perhaps funny is the wrong word. It's more amusing really in a darwin award kind of sense.

Btw, I'm not some peta person who's just red-assed over the way he treats animals. It's just, as was previously said, poetic justice.
