Why does everyone dump on Keanu Reeves' acting ability?

Speed is on FOX. I think he's a convincing actor. Granted, his voice is a little monotone.

He doesn't have much acting ability. He LOOKS like he's acting. Very unconvincing.

Some people think that he's been a good actor in some roles. It's probably because they weren't very famous roles or anything. People just remember the guy from Speed, Matrix, Bill and Ted. At least he doesn't pretend he's a great actor.

I don't think he is any worse than Christopher Walken or other similar role actors. Reeves doesn't have the range of the really good ones.

And the Rundown had to be one of the worst written movies I've ever seen. Not saying it was walken's fault, mind you, but he really whored himself out - even for him.

Yeah, whether or not he's a good actor, I hear he's a really nice and generous person with his money, so at least he's not a jerk.
