Why does everyone crap on Sony?

I don't want to be pesimistic, but this question has been asked alot. Please, PLEASE use a search or ask a subscriber to do one for you (im no subscriber btw). I'm tired of all these companies and how much they suck, this one is way better. Let it go man, if Sony is offering what you want, why do you have to second guess it?

That is true, even mitsubishi uses Sony patents (legally) to make their own crt's based on the trinitron.
 
I have a pair of Sony Wireless headphones and I used to have a pair of old 17" Trinitrons. My girlfriend has a 1.3 megapixel digicam and I haven't had any bad experiences with any of it. Granted all of it was acquired second hand so pricing wasn't really an issue.

If the question has been asked a lot, I haven't seen it. If this bothers you, don't reply to the thread.

I'm not second-guessing anything. I have always been a fan of the company and its products. Whenever a thread about televisions comes up, people always seem to crap on Sony, but no one [typically] ever offers a reason why. I think ThePresence nailed it.

as previously stated, sony CRTs are SOLID

only had 1 problem, which was with 1 of my sony dvd players, other than that, perfect performance out of everything. Have heard about alot of problems, guess im lucky. 🙂
 
Every sony tv I've owned developed a high voltage problem of some sort. And the pic in pic failed in my most recent xbr...🙁

Sony Wega
Sony Trinitron G420 19"
Sony (Dell branded) 17" monitor - bought Jan 1997, still working great today
Sony 17" monitor
My parents have two Sony TVs, one is older than me (~1980) - still works, although the color is starting to fade..the other 32" from 1990 works great..
Sony VCRs

Its worth the premium...I'm suprised Sony hasnt made a big jump into LCDs, although if they have you just dont hear about them..
 
Most of my Sony products have lived long, productive lives. TV, boombox, walkman, Digicam, etc. Been pretty happy with them.

Of course, with a husband who can do component level repair for all of our electronics, I'm pretty happy with just about all of our stuff. Nothing is broken long here.
