Why does every damn crappy-ass site on the net want me to register for a useless account?

I personally am tired of going to sites and finding I need to register for a free account just to download a file or read a page. STOP WASTING MY DAMN TIME.

Oh, this is a random rant induced by fileplanet, which has now decided that I have to register in order to download from their servers. Another 'nifty' new feature: telling me that there is a line because their server is full and I have to wait 33 minutes before downloading the file.

I'm sick and tired of the crap, make it stop, make it stop.

Oh, and I in no way direct this towards Anandtech, since you aren't required to register to read posts, and even if it were it'd be worth it

I agree.

I went to travelocity after checkoung out expedia only to find out after you enter the information they want you to register to see the actual results of the search, stuff like this is really annoying.
