Why does Ebay allow people to change user ID's?

I don't understand why Ebay allows people to change user ID's and erase a negative feedback profile. It's a ridiculous policy. Screw 10 people over, change your name and screw 10 more people over... :|

I had an auction end earlier tonight - a user with 85+ feedback has the high bid. A zero feedback user with shades (changed user ID) bids w/ 10 minutes left. He didn't email me prior to bidding, as requested in the auction description...

So, with 3 minutes left, I cancel the shades' 3 bids. He then bids AGAIN - TWICE. :disgust:

I don't have time to cancel the bids - so he wins the auction, then IMMEDIATELY emails me saying he made a mistake, and to please sell to the second place bidder.

WTF?!?!? I don't understand why Ebay's system lets people remove negative feedback.

On a slightly different note - who at Ebay do I contact about not getting charged fees for a f***** transaction? :|

Damn... sorry for being pointless and uninformed. 😛

I just assumed it erased feedback because I never see a "shades" user with any feedback at all.

Anyway, I think I may be done selling on eBay - it's hardly worth the hassle it seems. 🙁

also, to get your money back from the transaction, it's kind of a sucky process (especially if you're like me and the item fees for your auctions run around $75 each! :Q ) because first you have to wait 7 days after the auction and file a Non Paying Bidder warning.. then 10 days AFTER you file that, you can file a Request for Final Value Credit where they will reverse the charge for the final value fee of the auction, the whole process takes at least 17 days to complete, sometimes if eBay's charge cycle is in between there then yeah you get charged, and they credit your eBay account rather than re-crediting your bank/credit card. Then the only way to get that money physically is to snail mail a letter to their credit people asking them to send you a check for the amount in your balance.

I hate this system! :| In the past 3 weeks I've had 3 non-paying bidders and just 3 paying bidders, so I'm getting charged about $225 in fees because their refund process takes so long.. also they only refund your final value fee, they don't reverse the general auction fee or if you added extras like reserved, featured auction, etc. :| so basically I am losing about $75 out of my pocket because these three people who decided they needed to bid on my auction and then not pay for it! :| GRR!! :| :frown: heh

seriously though they really make me mad when they do this, I really wish there was a way to ONLY allow someone with at least +1 feedback to bid, not having to manually cancel it yourself
