Why does Diet Soda fizz so much more than regular?

If you take a can of Coke and pout it into a glass with ice cubes, you get a little fizz anf foam on the top. But if you take a can of Diet Coke (of God forbit caffeine free diet coke) and pour it into a glass with ice cubes, it's worse than beer. You get like 1 inch of soda and 4 inches of foamy fizz. Why is that? What difference in the ingredients makes it so much different?

I don't think it does. At least, I've never noticed.

I suppose it would be possible that dissolved sugar takes up more room than aspartame, leaving more space for dissolved CO2.
