Why does Coke from a glass bottle taste better?

Is it just a psychological response or is there any science behind it?

edit: the bottle I'm drinking from is bottled here, and contains high fructose corn syrup, not sugar.

I think Brainonska511 and funkymatt are both right. It's known that plastic bottles can leach chemicals. It's also known that in other countries Coke products are made with sugar cane instead of high-fructose corn syrup. It seems like the foreign coke is almost always in glass bottles.

EDIT: I still see coke in glass bottles down at the shore in NJ, so I'm guessing they're not totally extinct. :p

Well, seeing as I am a certified doctor, I would have to say that when the cold coke from a glass bottle touches your lips it release a chemical called THC(Tetrahydrocokeacola) that psycho reacts with your central nervous system and makes you feel all warm inside.

It's actually the glass. I also enjoy Pepsi from the can better than from plastic bottles and paper cups. I rank it like this:

Pepsi in can
Pepsi in paper cup
Pepsi in plastic bottle

You might be on to something here. It does tastes better and seems to have more carbonation.

All we have here is glass bottles, no cans allowed. You can get every soda in glass bottles

That's how it was in Spain. When I was there, EVERY soda was in a glass bottle. You couldn't get it in plastic unless you went up to 1L or higher.

There's little glass particles that make microscopic cuts in your mouth so the coke penetrates into your body faster.

plastic changes the flavor. same with beer, i'd rather it was in a glass bottle than a can. the aluminum can seems to change the flavor too.

Glass is a better conductor of tempature. So the colder the better.

BECAUSE THE COCA COLA OVER LORDS COMMAND IT.

INQUISITIVENESS IS REBELLION. OBEY COKE.

j/k.
I think some glass bottles (like Dr. Pepper) actually use cane sugar, maybe thats why.
