That may be true, but after a bit of airing out it's fine, and there wont be a yellow/brown coating on everything in the house, tobacco smoke sticks to EVERYTHING and it doesn't air out, it permeates.

When does it air out? He keeps smoking, just like a tobacco user. The smell of tobacco will go away too, if you give it enough time.

You don't hold in pot smoke, kids do it because it "gets you higher" which is bullshit. Your lungs function extremely well and the THC is absorbed within the first few moments of contact. The only thing holding it in does is make the tars get into your lungs more.

seems that holding pot smoke for up to 5 seconds will cause you to absorb more thc

after that and there are no more benefits

Even 5 seconds is BS, from what little studies there are on this show that within 1 second of contact with the lungs 95%+ of the THC is absorbed. Holding longer than that might eek out that other some odd % but I really doubt you'd notice.

According to Steve Liebke’s 2001 ‘A Cannabis User’s Harm Reduction Handbook,’ “Take small, shallow tokes or pulls. About 95% of THC in cannabis smoke is absorbed in the first few seconds so breath holding is quite pointless. All it really achieves is a far greater amount of tar being deposited in the lungs.”

still about 3 seconds

People aren't smoking a pack or two of counts every single day?
I was going to guess that as well.
Driving to work this morning, the person ahead of me smoked at least 2 cigarettes over a 20 minute period, and of course flicked the butts out the window.

I smoked for several year a couple packs a day when I moved I noticed all the walls were yellow except where pictures where. Disgusting habit.
I have been waiting 10 years for an excuse to reuse these images. (They're not mine; I don't recall what poor ATOT sod they're from)

...small pieces of trash that cause roadside fires.

I've personally extinguished a few roadside fires that were caused by cigarette butts. It blows my mind that smokers think it's OK to throw them out.

Haven't smoked weed in forever, but i'd imagine that if 20-30 joints were smoked per day in the same room for years, then things might get a little nasty.

Good point, especially now that it's tree fuzz season here. Some days it's like driving through falling snow.

In Eighties visited bro in SF and he told my wife not to smoke in house and I ragged on her and had big laugh then he told me that I was included, not to use one hitter in house. I was flabbergasted. But realized bro was right.

LMFAO, Weed smoke smells foul, and those who smoke it smell foul, for a long time afterwards too. They just don't realize it, because they have been desensitized to it.

There is a good deal of "tar" and other staining chemicals produced in the combustion of tobacco. Marijuana just has different combinations.

I had a buddy who was a ridiculous pot smoker and his room reeked of weed constantly. His house mate who lived on the polar opposite side of the house was a heavy smoker. They both graduated and moved out but I was still friends with people who lived in the house. A week or two after moving out the pot smell was completely gone. 2 years after the smoker room still reeked like an ash tray. Another smoker now lives in there so I can't say if it would have continued. He was honestly the only person willing to take the room.

Can't speak for tobacco (don't smoke it often), but for other things, I just go outside or make sure it gets exhausted out the window. No stains, no lingering smells, and my stuff + house stays clean like it should. Pretty simple...

Vaping inside is no big deal, however. Couple vaping with water filtration and no one will have a clue (slightly true to an extent with water pipes, but it's still smoke).

Yea you don't know what you're talking about.

Weed smoke lingers for a small amount of time, like yea the same day they smoked you would smell the weed on them or in their cars. Maybe the next day too if their car was closed. Not long term.

Yet if you were to buy a (doesn't matter) playstation from someone who smokes ciggerettes in their house, frequently, then you could see that playstation stained from the gray the playstation had, plus it would literally have a cigarette stench even years later. Meanwhile if you bought a playstation from a weed smoker who constantly smoked indoors you would never even know it. Cigarette smoke attaches itself to anything and everything and never lets go. Why do you think people list shit on eBay and other places as "from a non-smoker home".

As to the OP who is dead on BTW, its because of all the additives in cigarettes as someone else already said.

i'm sorry that your nose doesn't work as well as mine.
