Why does Chipoltes put rice in its burritos?

Chipotle Guac > Mexican Taco Shack Guac

There has been no guacamole anywhere that ive found that even compares to chipotle. FACT.

Also you order 2x add ons. Double meat is like 2 bucks, and guac is like $2. With a drink it might be $12. Unless your tax is 20%?

I agree with others that Baja Fresh, if you have one, is better than all of these, though.

interesting. I've never ordered double meat (sounds crazy to me), but that still sounds way expensive. Guac is only like $0.60 extra, I think? maybe a dolla...

I always do carnitas, fajita/bb, all the salsas, lettuce, cheese. comes out to ~$6.50 for me.

I'm...not going to believe that extra meat + guac doubles that price.

Guac is $1.80 here in Cincinnati. Double meat is $2.xx, forget.

Its been a long time but I do remember it being in the double digits. Only reason I got it though was cause it was free that day.

So what's not "Mexican" in a Chipotle burrito? It's made of real, quality ingredients in the proportions I prefer. When you say "it's not Mexican!", you're looking at the people that put it together and not really considering what it's made of.

Mexican rice is white rice with tomato sauce and a few chunks of tomato in it. That shit Chipotle serves is a Tex Mex abomination. For chains Baja Fresh >>>> Chipotle, and their Burrito's have to be close to twice the size. Only chain I've seen with a bigger Burrito is Cotijas in San Diego.

A normal Chipotle burrito has about 1200+ calories depending on what you put in it. It also costs anywhere from $6-12. Id rather go to my local Taqueria for some real mexican food and get a burrito for $3. I can also ask them for no rice and they give me more meat to supplement for no extra cost.

And you cant read and you made assumptions about my posts. Did I once say Chipotle didnt use quality stuff? Good quality doesnt always mean healthy. At the place that I go to I can get a burrito the same size, with more meat for $3. Add in $1 per taco with meat that Chipotle would never serve cause most Americans would be too grossed out to try.

Where did you even get that I said you have to get ingredients from Mexico for Mexican tasting food? Its about who cooks it and the way that they cook it. Thats like me saying the Vietnamese food here isnt authentic cause they didnt get mint leaves from Vietnam..

By me saying that, maybe someone would go out and try it on their own and make up their own opinion about whats better. Your exact word was "taste" when he asked you what the difference between authentic and not-authentic was. Now, you're saying that it's the people preparing it even though any chain is going to be following the chain's method and not letting the ethnicity of the worker come into play. He went in to the ingredients because that is what the taste comes from and then you just changed your answer. Good debating skills there, bud.

And as for Chipotle's (s is properly indicating possessive here!) quality and health, you should really read up on it. They are the only place I know of that insists on meat and ingredients that were never factory farmed or pumped full of hormones and preservatives. That almost directly translates into health and nutrition. Sure, there are a lot of hole-in-the-wall places in San Diego that I prefer to Chipotle, but they don't even make a peep about where their beef comes from while Chipotle proudly proclaims it on the bag, cup, store door, etc.

Also, if you still think that WHO is making it matters: I've been at Chipotles (the s is for pluralization here!) from coast to coast (Atlanta, San Diego) and the vast majority of employees I've seen were Latino. In fact, it's so common that I'm usually surprised when one isn't.

no tex mex place has ever served rice similar to chipotle's. it's a denver creation, not tex mex.
