why does BF1942 need to reboot after install?

hi all,
just nstalled BattleField 1942 and after I was done it prompted me to reboot. then after I clicked yes my StartupMonitor claimed it registered something to run on startup , but the machine shut down too fast for me to see what it was.
just curious, I haven't encountered any games before that required this, at least none lately that come to mind.

Well, its a required reboot because its writing to a "special" part of the registry. 😉 Also, I think the only thing its putting in start up is just one item for your first run, and I think its to register the product? I could be wrong though.

well it also popped up the 'register now?" prompt but the machine shut down too quick.

If you installed Direct X in the process then it probably would want to reboot.
