why does ATOT think you have to announce that youre armed before you fire at intruder

Why does BlahBlahYouToo think that he has to share every idiotic thought that flashes through his mind with ATOT?

For me it depends. If they're already in the house, I'm not gonna give myself away by telling them I'm armed and ready to shoot. If they're still attempting to break in and I know exactly where they'll enter from, then they get some warning.

Blahblah should read the WHOLE original thread before making another one on the same subject. He didnt and jumped to the wrong conclusions in it. Funny really.

Conversely, maybe they get scared and shoot at you, when all they really wanted was your laptop.

True, I'm not saying it is the right thing to do, just saying why people announce it. I would probably take a more coldblooded approach myself and beat them with my axe or hammer. Have you seen the price of ammo? Holy crap! if I want to go through 4 or 5 boxes of 38s at the range, I practicly need to take out another mortgage on my house....

..well it's common sense..at least have a little courtesy before you kill someone..sheesh. you play way too much video games.

If they didn't give me "fair warning" that they were going to break into my house, I'm not going to give them "fair warning" that I'm going to shoot to kill. Of course, shooting an intruder without knowing it's an intruder first is stupid.
