Why does all generic cola taste like RC instead of Coke or Pepsi

If you're gonna rip something off .. shouldn't you copy the most popular or expensive
brands ?

I wish that Sam's Choice Cola tasted like RC. It tastes like $%@@*&%$@#* but I stll buy it. 58 cents ain't bad.

I thought you were saying that RC had Coke's recepie and were wondering why people didn't just buy the generic.
 
Generics usually just get their Syrup from the same manufacturer. Nesbitt(IIRC) was one very big one couple decades back.
