Why do you throwup when you drink a lot?

So last night I had a crazy night, drank like 20+ drinks - and then threw up of course.

Why is it that your body throws up? I mean I know its because you have so many toxins in you that your body rejects them, but is that all, or is there more to the story? Just wondering.

Sometimes you simply throw up from a capacity standpoint.

If a person funnels their first 5 beers, most people cannot handle that amount of liquid in their stomachs comfortably. So the body copes and makes you vomit.

Makes sense.

Really? I'm pretty sure I could bong 5 bottled waters and not puke, in fact I've done 5 beers and didn't puke (I wasn't exactly comfortable though). IIRC from college, its because your body can only process a certain amount of alcohol per hour, and the gag reflex kicks in to get rid of the excess...or something.

I said for some people. Normally, most peoples bodies do not like going from 0 to full of 60oz of carbonated beverage in a few minutes. Personally, I've done more than the number I originally quoted in a single funnel and have been able to cope with it, while people around me have gotten it down and thrown up within a few seconds.

Something about your body not wanting to die. 🙂

Thats actually it.

true, but not entirely..... besides the whole body thing, mentally it fvcks you up, either by making you feel dizzy or feeling as if you are spinning, so you can throw up from that as well. Friend of mine threw up from just smoking weed for the first time a long time ago, so its mental as well as physical.

danny~!

Eat 60 ounces of chocolate at one sitting and you'll want to throw up too.

Too much of anything at once is a trigger for your body to evacuate any "pending" contents. It's not just alcohol.

Alcohol is just most commonly consumed in large quantities. Combined with the effect on your brain you get the pukes even worse.

Watch the hard drinkers though. I can drink large quantities of alcohol in one night. Just not all at once. I spread it out, eat a little during the drinking, etc.

Once we were funneling tequila, and one guy kept bragging about how much he could do, and that he'd make the rest of us puke if we tried to match him bong for bong. So one of my friends pours his next one, and makes sure to drop the worm in there too. He sucks it all down and then the worm hits his throat, and he just fvcking exploded, spewing puke everywhere. It was like somebody knocked over a fire hydrant.

Ahhh...good times.

There is no carbonation in water.

It can be from your stomach being too full, your body being angry about that much alcohol, or a combination of both.
