Why do you post on the off topic section of an online tech forum when you could be having a life? :Q

I don't know how to answer this, you guys want to try?

Wow...your OP insults YOU too.

Many of us HAVE a life. Mine is really, really busy. I come here to just let off steam (90% of the time) or ask a really off the wall question that I really need an answer to.

Only on ATOT can you ask "How do I replace this toilet...with one that plays CDs?" and get 109 real answers complete with links and diagrams.

you should change your "you" to "we" (except the last one).

I realize that question included me... but I think your thing about the toilet is hilarious, and saldy true :D.

It fills an endless void....
because it gives me something to do while i am at work or at home bored.
It is fun to come here and see whats going on... read stupid, interesting, touching, enducational, funny posts.. sometimes you can get valuable information here and help someone along in the process.
I am not one of the ones that have been here forever and ever, but I have been here for going on 7 years and many folks on here and become "friends" i guess you could say, some of whom i have met in real life.

Also, it is how the Man and i communicate during the day.

I've been chatting online for so long... and a forum is much more convenient than IRC or what-have-you. It's an enjoyable form of mental masturbation.

Well I'm reading ATOT. Might as well post from time to time.

It's a learning experience.

I get more inside info here than anywhere else. You get news and (usually) intelligent opinions about nearly anything. It's a very unique place.

Most people here are here in their spare time, while they're on the phone at work, at lunch, whatever. You're pretty smug thinking that everyone here is a 300lb 40 year old virgin type.

I myself am on a roadtrip and stuck in a hotel while it's storming outside.

I rarely watch TV and ATOT is where I keep up with interesting news items - political, cultural, entertainment etc.
You get everything here: trailers and reviews of the latest TV shows, movies and music; the latest & greatest spoof/parody/absurd/funny video on Youtube/Break; weird events in the news; hot babe pics; expert opinions on steak, cars, guns, the best smelling-wood, work-out routines, college, jobs, foreign cultures, politics, learning to play an instrument, cooking ideas, health, insurance, gardening, pets etc; the latest in consumer electronics & industry standards; differing opinions on theology, global warming, science, junk science etc...

The list goes on & on. As a kid, I used to randomly leaf through the World Book Encyclopedia looking for something interesting. ATOT is a lot like that, but much easier than just aimlessly going through Wikipedia. With Wikipedia, you have to have some sort of idea what you are looking for. But ATOT brings things you'd never even thought of to your attention.

Though you could generalize us all as horny, shallow and shentastic liars, we all do have something unique to contribute to the community.

I like visiting ATOT to take a break from work or FS/FT or Hot Deals.

Haha yeah that describes it quite well for me. Barring a few tards here and there (who/where doesn't have em? ;)), this is a neat place.

No offense buddy, but I think we all know why you really come here.
Bewb advice! :p

Also, Miss Lola was right about the reposting. Some of use have been here so long (lurking or members) that just about EVERY single thing we see is a repost. So we just ignore the repost alerts and charge ahead with our discussion anyway.
It still requires more brain cells than TV.

Procrastination and Boredom. Gotta work on the first one :D

Not to mention if it's fvcked up and on the net, sooner or later it will be found in ATOT (if it didn't originate there in the first place). Also helped me maintain some sort of sociality over Spring Break (I have SB 2 weeks after my friends, so I had no one to hang out with back home :( )

meh, I lived quite a bit already... ATOT is great for slow times at work, or when I am just chilling at home. I am on the computer most of my waking hours unless I'm at hockey or something.

just regular entertainment purposes really... although I do use and love the "real" forums too!

when ATOT gets annoying... I just go to another forum or something.

oh yeah, and there is one of these "wife" things here too :D
