your own lives are so complex as it is, that spending time and energy on something that has nothing to do with you is such a waste of time that you could be doing something productive.

 
such as people caring about things that they do not control and that do not affect them. Why don't you tell us?

If everyone was so conceited as to only care about their own lives and nothing else, then there would never be anything to live for, and the world would be more of a shambles then it is now. It is in the state it is because of that very attitude, and it it is those people who drag it down. Wake up, the world is bigger then just you and your life....

well for starters it does have an affect on the gays who want to get married, and getting media attention and what not helps them with that.
