I got a 9700 non pro.
Needless to say, i had a gf2 befo, and the performance increase was great, but...i expected more from it. Games run fine, all graphics maxed out, 1024x768 (the res i prefer). But in U2: the awakening on a map called Hell i get about 30fps! That map runs slow for some reason. Other than that i get good framerates in U2. I realised, that the best setting is 2aa, and 2 or 4 af (performance af). I've been playing Doom3 pre-release (muwahahaha! it kick ass to live in Russia!) and i get kick-ass framerates, but since its verison 0.something its really, really buggy. Just like the SoF2 i got half a year before it was released. Sof 2 was like a bug kingdom. And the TV out sux major balls. Also i dont like that the BIOS is locked (otherwise everybody would buy the non-pro and overclock it

), and i have to flash it, as opposed to using a "native" overclocking utility.
Cons: I EXPECTED MORE!!! 3 years passed, and this is the newest technology? LOL! In a year, im gonna overclock the living $hit out of it. Same sink as the PRO, why not? Memory is rated at 333 (x2 = 667), infinion 3.3ns, and the core is the same. Overlcoking is a must.
Pros - still mighty kick ass. Using 2aa (the BIIIIIIIG difference between no aa, and no difference between 4aa) makes games beautiful, at a small performance hit cost. AF - i find little use for af more than 4x, in most games. The only games that really likes 16af, and looks A LOT better, is operation flashpoint.
I really expected more when i got it. 14200 3dmarks (175 fsb, mmory at 7-3-3-3) dont mean nothin! 220 bux?! cmon.
