i got my computer about last april. it worked fine except the hard drive started dying. over 2 months, it caused me a lot of anger and disappointment. i thought it was the PSU's fault so i bought a new PSU. that didn't solve the problem. i figured out it was the hard drive and so RMA'ed it. the computer worked great til january. the motherboard then crapped out. i RMA'ed it, took a month to get a replacement. and now...

my computer has been getting "delayed write failed" errors. when accessing a file, the entire comp would freeze for about 5 seconds and the hard drive stopped making noise. then it would unfreeze for 5 seconds only to freeze again. after a few cycles, the comp would work normally again. then it started freezing at the boot screen, but the computer would eventually start. it then refused to boot into windows at all. right now, i'm trying to reformat and it refuses to be formatted.

i think that when a hard drive dies, it's worse than ur video card or your processor. this is just a story of woe. i think i'm going to RMA my hard drive and buy a raptor. *sigh*

Not as bad as having bad ram...

When everything works just fine, except you burn coasters, have corrupt files, etc. for no reason... and then the sinking feeling weeks later when you find out and think back to how much data you have may or may not be affected...

And I had brand spanking new Corsair 3200 XL ram too !!

At least a hard drive you know its going out!

And random impossible-to-duplicate BSODs (in my case, but fortunately no corrupt files that I know of)... Memtest86 was my friend. :)
