Of course this isn't going out to you guys but wtf...I normally park in the back but I just had surgery on my lung last week and didn't feel like parking in the boonies and walking it up to the supermarket, so I just parked up front.

I was literally in for like 5-10mins as I just needed milk and cereal, came out to be greeted by a nice white ding on my drivers side door.

Blah.

how do you know they were fat?

they could have been really little and skinny and the door got out of control for their skinny little arms and hit your car.

Get used to it, my car on the passenger sidee has 5 places where the paint has actually screaped off the plastic trim piece from other peoples doors slamming into it.

You don't like people kicking their door open, you should just park your car in the garage at home and walk everywhere. Yes, it's the only way.

It's because shopping malls make spots too small for the average size of car and SUV.

Actually, IME, fat people tend to be more cautious than others, just because they know it takes more to get out. It usually is because stupid people can't fvcking park between the lines well enough to leave enough room to get out...AND, all too often, it's the person whose vehicle gets hit that is the one who parked like sh!t...

You know I was going to say that because I have mainly seen fat people be careful because they dont want to hit the car next to them. Hell I am one of them. I have mainly seen women and thier spoiled kids jump out of the SUV whipping the doors open right into the car next to them.

I go out of my way when I have my kids with me. If I park close or its windy I will go open my kids doors just so it wont hit the car next to me. So I really think you need to stop assuming its a fat person only. Because its mostly people who were rased not to respect thier fellow humans and thier property and the mother and sometimes dads who dont tell thier kids when parking to be careful when they open the door.

A-hole Skinny Fvcker :disgust:

In general I notice the average adult who is careless in door opening at parking lots is female and on a cell phone. Thats only next to children who do not comprehend what damage an open door can do to the car parked next to it. I refuse to park close anywhere I go and always park a little further and enjoy the walk. I find that parking away from everyone else also speeds up the search for that "perfect" close spot. Usualy by the time I am walking in the front door, that person looking for the closest spot is still looking. Its also easier to leave, go figure.

And you didn't take your door and slam it into the side of their car 5 or 6 times in retribution???? ;)

It's not the fat people who slam their doors into your car. It's the stupid/inconsideate ones.

For the past two and a half years I've made an effort to park my car away from others in lots and I've passed by thousands of empty spaces because I didn't like the look of the two SUVs on eithger side of the space. It's been pointless.

In one case it looks like someone put the corner of their door (SUV based on the height) into the side of my car leaving a nickel-sized scratch and a big indention.

In the other case, it looks like some asshole in a SUV (based on the height) with a plastic bumper turned too soon while backing out of an adjacent parking space. He/she hit me just behind the driver's side door. He/she then kept backing out and left a drag mark along the side of my car all the way to the back bumper.

It's LA. I paid $8 to park in an open lot with 8 attendants. Of course there was no note.

A month after putting $1100 into bodywork to fix this stuff (it bothered me that much), the city lawnmower throws a rock across the street and leaves a dime-sized indentation in the driver's side door. :(

It's more fun to blame the fat people, because no one will stick up for them except other fat people. And then they just get laughed at.

I'm so glad my car is past the "brand-new" stage to the point where nothing short of an actual dent bothers me much!

I've found from personal experience that fat people need to open their car doors wider than skinny people to get out of their cars. It seems to be an extra inch for about every 20 extra pounds or so.

If I hit a car door, though, it's usually the other person's fault for parking too damn close. If these annoying skinny people would stop parking two freakin inches from the white line next to my drivers side car door, I wouldn't have any trouble opening my door and getting out without some amazing feat of aerobatics.
