Why do you excercise?

I want to live a long time and be strong enough to do things that are fun. I also want to be able to save someone's life if the situation presents itself (ripped off a car door about 4 years ago to facilitate a rescue).

I have goals for my workouts. In October my brother and I wil be climbing Mt. Charleston in Vegas. It's a 5000 foot ascent, mostly walking and will take about 6 hours to complete. The down trip is 4 hours but it's a very, very long day. The view is amazing and the accomlishment very rewarding.

I do like getting looked at but that's just a byproduct of being 6'4 and a well muscled 240 lbs.

all of the above, really.

i'm 27 and i've realized getting out of shape is all too easy 🙁

i also play sports, so i workout to play at a "high" level 😛

and of course, i want to look nice....🙂

Well I can be dead or I can exercise. While there are mornings I wish I was dead I'll take the exercise. 😛

Where's the "because I like to exercise" option? I happen to like bike riding, running, hiking and playing sports. The health benefits are just as important, I suppose, but the point is that I like exercise. No wonder you rarely find me near a weight room.

Because I've got first hand experience of what happens when you don't exercise and I didn't like the experience.

Yes, yes and yes.

It's great to actually be able to perform athletically. It's nice to be healthy, rarely getting sick and living a long time. It's good to be strong for daily life (lifting, running, etc.).

that's a good motivator. i gained about 20lbs a few years back and when it dawned on me that i was turning into a fat-ass, i realized i needed to change things. this is coming from someone who was a "fast metabolism" kid in HS and college.
