Why do you argue on ATOT?

Just wondering. So many arguements get started on this forum, especially about religion and politics. I have never seen any evidence that anyone changed their mind about a subject due to the blinding, undeniable argument of an AT memember. So, why do you do it?

(I tried putting this up earlier but forgot the poll. )

That's dumb and I'm dumb because I'm going to argue about that.

It has nothing to do with being close-minded. People argue all the time. It's called conflict and without it life would be boring.

I "argue" on here because I enjoy a good one every now and then. It gets the blood running and I guess it's just my nature.

I also want people to share my view because I feel everyone should have the opportunity to be right.

I'm likely to believe that for most of the people, there are probably quite a few that will argue anything but are the same people in real life who are scared of their own shadow, everyone is a tough guy on the internet.

Because I sometimes disagree with other people on ATOT. No point in having an opinion if I don't voice it every now and again. Also, it's a good opportunity for me to test my arguments and see how well they hold up under scrutiny. Nothing sharpens the intellect like a good debate, and as I am sure many others here will agree, my intellect is definitely in need of sharpening.

I enjoy all the flaming; a knockdown, dragout argument is fun
I'm hoping to convince someone of my viewpoint
I'm trying to learn about the viewpoints of others

Though most of all I try to learn from others, my views might not change but it gives me a better understanding of the other side.
