Why do we assume Dr. Claw from Inspector Gadget is a man?

I cannot remember 100%, but I was pretty sure Dr. Claw talked. And his voice was that of a man.

Some women live with the socially debilitating effects of a husky, male voice. Don't they deserve more?

I assumed Dr. Claw was a man, because the character had huge hands and sounded like a man when he talked.

Reg Green - Voice of Dr. Claw

Lorenzo Music was the voice of Garfield, Peter Venkman from the Real Ghostbusters, and Tummi from the Gummi Bears. Lorenzo music was not a real Ghost buster, not a cat, and not a bear.

If someone calls you on the phone and it sound like a man, do you assume its a man or do you ask
if its a women with a husky male voice.

My only point is that, though we could have assumed incorrectly that Dr. Claw is a man, you asked why
we did. And I think when most of us hear a manly voice we assume we are talking to a man.

I also point out that Dr. Claw was played by Rupert Everett during the feature movie Inspector Gadget, yet another reason to assume its a man.

When I played Metroid on the NES, I assumed that Samus was a man due to seemingly obvious cues.

I'm just sayin'...

true, but all those characters were male

BTW- I understand your point. But is Dr. Claw an M.D. or a Ph.D.? When "doctor" is used, everyone assumes M.D.

because obviously no woman would have a problem with a man with extendable body parts! go go gadget private parts!!
