I know I'm kind of beating this topic to death, but I'd like to get an answer.
Both MS and Logitech USB mice have 'paused' for split seconds during heavy CPU / disk activity on a variety of my systems, and many others'. Yet, I've discovered that some users never have this happen. This is an informal survey of a bunch of people on IRC, mostly gamers.
What causes the tiny pause? I'm almost about to go back to the PS/2 port to avoid this.
Doesn't seem to be an optical issue, or an onboard RAID issue, or a chipset issue.
Does your USB mouse ever pause for you?
EDIT: I don't think it's an IRQ conflict, either.
