Why do Unreal engine games install so slow?

All Unreal based games seem to take forever to install from CD.

Unreal
Unreal Tournament ver 4.0 original
Rune
Deus EX
The 2nd UT disc takes over 20 minutes to install!

The only one that doesn't take forever is the OEM UT 4.28 version which came with my SB Live!
 
I found the same thing, I've got a Toshiba XM-6202B, 32x...everything else installs fairly quickly but UT and Rune seem to take a relatively longer time...
 
The Unreal based games are really huge if you do the full install. They have big maps and lots of textures. The full install of Quake 3 is around 450 MB and that takes quite a while to install as well.

It's worth it though. You do a full install of the game once and then it loads much faster than it would from the CD.
