Why do today's routers come with install cds?

What's more is it says to run the cd before you hook up the router. :confused: Screw that!

I'm thankful for those CDs. I think I could set up a router on my own, but for a noob it is good to get it working before you start mucking with settings. I just got broadband so I had to set up my first router, and the CD made it (almost) painless. The network the CD set up does not resemble my current network, but it gave a nice starting point.

just think of the number of calls it saves you from friends setting up their NEW ROUTERS! hehe
