Why do they call it "Politically Correct"?

Because it's not offending or derogatory or insulting, and thus, politicians can use it. Thus making it "politically correct".

ah..that makes sense. i figured since many issues were more social in nature, rather than political, "socially correct" would be a better term.

I second that. I also think it has a broad meaning of saying appropriate stuff anywhere.

i think it has to do with how laws are written. they make them really vague and impossible to comprehend, so that they encompass every possible situation with lots of euphemisms.

Offended? Don't snub your offenders, write your congressman and get laws against it! Make your school suspend them! Make your boss fire them!

We live in a country of thin skinned little whiners who, for some reason, believe they have a right to be free from offense.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again... Freedom is measured not by allowing that with which you agree, but by allowing that which offends you most.
