like pyonir said, they are more orthodics than shoes, they are for people with feet problems. I bet you can find the same style without the orthodics for much less.

Because that's what the market will bear. The wonderful thing about capitalism is that you can charge what ever you want for your product. If people are willing to pay it, fine, if not you lower your prices or go outta business.

I don't know that this is a typo. NB has always had a fiercely loyal fan base, and they make very high-quality shoes. The high-end ones tend to be heavy and well-suited to heavy, abusive runners, but they last forever and have a nice ride. I prefer Asics myself, but NB are excellent as well.

Bingo. This is exactly the reason. NB is one of the few manufacturers who makes running/casual shoes for pronators. I wore NB for most of my life (and still do, although non-pronator) to help correct my Achilles tendons, which were not straight, and improve my flat feet. It used to be all you could get to correct problems like this were clunky, ugly orthopedic shoes, which costed just as much. At least now you can get shoes that will stand up to and be more comfortable during the exercises you have to do to correct your problems.

BTW, the price is correct. I picked up some of these during the 30% off Footlocker sale over the holidays and I love 'em. They're very stable, comfortable shoes.
