Why do the smallest cuts hurt the most...

i got this lil surface cut that hurts like a bitch and it wont stop but when i tore ligaments in my foot that stopped after 15 mins.

yeah, big cuts end up cutting away nerve endings so your body is like, hmmmmm, nothing to worry about as you pass out on the floor

Why is it that when you get cut, and you don't see it, it doesn't hurt. But when you look at it, thats when it start's to hurt?

Doesn't your body releases a chemical that acts as pain killers? Maybe thats why bigger wounds don't hurt as much............. SOMETIMES!

I believe they call that blood, and once your body releases enough of it, you don't feel the pain anymore.

Once the threshold of unbearable is passed, the brain no longer processes all the neural signals. In effect it &quot;blocks out&quot; the pain signals so you don't go insane.
