Why do the 9700s cost more than the 9800s?

I've scoured about, comparing prices, and it seems the 9700 pro or non-pro costs more than the 9800 pro and non-pro, respectively. Why is this so?

Get yourself a sapphire 9800nonpro from newegg.com for $249

They have the samsung 3.3ns ram and with a simple bios flash you have a pro.

With regards to the 9800 vs. the 9800 Pro, clock speed on the Pro is 380 MHz vs. 325 for the non-pro. The memory speed is 340 MHz on the Pro vs. 290 for the non-pro.

The difference between the pros and non pros are the mem and core clock speeds.

yeah, this sucks! prices for the 9700's go up b/c they are discontinued AND they do away with the 9800np! what an outrage! although i suppose i'd do the same if i were running ATI and finally figured out that everyone w/ a 9800np was flashing it to make it a 9800pro...
