Why do stores RAPE you on SCSI cables?

I think my 68pin scsi cable is dead and I am looking for a replacement.. every local store is charging like $35-50 for a damn scsi cable.. THOSE BASTARDS! There is no reason for scsi to be that much more expensive than any other cable.

They rape you because the CAN. SCSI was NEVER intended for main stream bargain basement shoppers. It is inherantly an expensive information transport that will never be as cheap as IDE. I wish it was cheaper though. I had to go buy an LVD U-160 ribbon that cost over $100...

Crimson, try a different store. I've never had to pay more than about $20 for a 68pin SCSI3 cable.
