Why do some people smoke only when they drink?

i have several friends that do this, i can't figure it out.

For people who don't normally smoke, nicotine + alcohol results in an incredible buzz. For people that have never smoked, it'll probably result in vomiting.

I like coke + alcohol + cigarettes when I am trying to get wasted.

several studies have shown the nicotine enhances the effects of alcohol.

People that previously smoked and quit may be more apt to indulge in such activity when their inhibitions and willpower are weakened by alcohol.

Also, if you're in a bar or at party where people are smoking, cigarettes might be readily available.

Some people just like to smoke when they drink though... for no particular reason... and there's nothing wrong with that either.
