Why do some people have to play their bass so freaking loud in their cars?

I know of a couple of people that might say yes to that.

Sometimes I play my music loud because I'm in the mood to listen to it loud. It's not like I'm out to impress anyone, I just like my music that way sometimes. Then again, I'm not modding my car to make it sound better, either.

i listen to my music loud. and i do have 2 10 in Nakamichi subs in my trunk. but its never loud liek you describe. and it doesent rattel my car. it just sounds good

i have a 12" sub in my corolla, nothing that shakes teh block, just something that adds bass/quality to my music...

I have the Monsoon sound system that came with my Jetta and the car seems to keep all of the sound (and bass) inside the car.

There's a difference between liking loud music and letting people hear your bass from a quarter mile away.

It's just not necessary and a hell of a lot more noise violations should be handed out, especially in residential areas.

2) Some people think it makes them cool.
3) Some people do it to fit in.
4) Some people do it for a hobby - competition.
5) Studies have shown that some people get high from loud sounds. The body produces its own chemicals to numb the sounds which make you feel good.
6) Some people do it to get attention (although they would never admit it).

fools that have bass that can rattle your own car a quarter mkile away should be shot on sight. This would save a lot of accidents and would help lessen imports like the ugly a$$ civic.
I like when i pull up next to a yo-boy/riceboy and their freegin bass is blastin away to the trendiest BET music like 50cent and i turn up my stock GMC with some nasty Battery or Damage, inc!!

i do it just to do it. i enjoy my music loud. doesnt matter the genre either. ill just as happily play hip hop or rock loud, heck ill even turn stevie wonder up. i just like loud music. know what they say though... "if its too loud... you're too old"
