why do some college b-ball players wear T-shirts under their jerseys?

just curious after after watching all this ncaa bball. is it just by preference?

Well you see, cheezefactory... the very tall engine coolant (VTEC) allows the shirt to stand vertically without causing any type of aerodynamic inefficiencies of the player, thereby him drinking a pepsi.

Sometimes I think it's so that other players on the team will be more aware of where they are on the court i.e. sometimes the only one wearing the t shirt is the point guard.

a lot of the time, it is to keep the jerseys from becoming annoying, and they do. the tight "biker shorts" are there to hold their junk in place. we b-ball players dont like the junk flopping up and down, one wrong flop, and you'll end up on the ground like the Cincinati guy in the Cinci/DePaul game. Mainly, the under-shirts are to keep the jerseys from irritating, also, they may just be Under-Armor shirts, which are breathable and soak up the sweat.

if you wear a tshirt underneath.. then you always have something to wipe off your sweat on.

when your hands are sweaty and your jersey is soaked with sweat. its kinda hard to dry off your hands to shoot your free throws or whatever. so i can see where a tshirt would come in handy.

Yeah, speaking seriously the inside of the jersey can really chafe a set of nipples. I never wore a shirt underneath my jersey when I played (from 4th grade until I graduated...started varsity for 3 years 😀), but I did wear spandex under my shorts.

Get these for the chaffed nipples.

hehe sorry I couldn't help myself.

The real reason is because in the NBA, the players wear new jerseys whenever they feel like it. In college hoops, you get a set and have to rotate and wash them throughout the season.
