What's the reason Jedi's goto the Darkside, don't they know the Darkside is evil. Is it because of PRIDE!!!!!!!!
 
didn't you ever play Jedi Knight? The Dark-side powers were 100x cooler than the light side powers. And they rocked in multiplayer.
 
Better looking women.....how fun can good Jedi women be? Gimme some of that Dark Jedi booty!!!! Kinda like taking the crazy bitch home from the bar....sure they may be dangerous but they're usually a LOT of fun.
 
it is because of power. "historically" most jedi have gone to the dark side for good reasons. They wanted to change something or help the good guys (rebellion and later the New Republic) but they did it in the wrong way. One example from a Star Wars book is a guy named Kyp Durron, he was so angry at the imperials that he took a small, experimental ship and used it to make several stars go nova, one of which actually destroyed a planet that housed the imperial stortrooper training ground (the planets name was Cardia, I think) He ended up killing his brother, who he wanted to rescue, due to his anger. He slipped into the darkside while wanting to help save those he loved. Most of the Jedi's who slip never come back but some do (inlcuding Kyp and Luke) Some jedi go to the dark side out of pure power hunger, but most slip due to one or two actions that had good intentions.

I'd have to say it's pier pressure. "Come on come to the dark side it won't hurt you, you might even like it". "Come on just try it". "All the cool people are doing it." "Look at Darth Vader and Maul their cool don't you want to be like them"?

Spike2756- but remember that he was under the infulence of Xar Kuin (spelling wrong) just like the other dude that Luke had to kill before him in the same book.

Edit: actually most Jedi go to the darkside bedause they seek to understand the ture nature of the force not just the light. But the darkside draws them in and traps them.
 
Basically, yeah, it's the power. It's the seduction of feeling unstopable. It's knowing that the only kind that stands a chance of beating you fairly is your own kind.

And besides... Jedi are not supposed to be on either side (i.e. light/dark). They're supposed to be a NEUTRAL 3rd party power that assists the losing side. Read the books and learn. 🙂 That's why Vader went around killing Jedi -because they had abandoned the true and original beliefs. He killed 1000's of Jedi -and didn't discriminate whether light or dark.

And there are not many books that go into detail about pre clone or even pre deathstar stuff. Zahn is the only author with the real skill to go into that relm.

Okay, before the fall of the Sith, the creed about there only being two did not exist. I'm reading the book right now that set that creed in place. Darth Sidious, being the last surviving Sith, made that rule. At the hight of the Sith, there were many of them. But, yes, Vader came way after Darth Sidious's fathering the new Sith and it's new code and Sidious's apprentice.

Nope, Darth Sideous was not the last survivng Sith. He came way after the fall of the sith and no one really knows how he was able to learn the ways of the Sith. Darth Bane was the one who came up with the rule of the apprentice and master.
