People say "RACIST" like it's a BAD thing...
Thuggery SHOULD be a crime, and street gangs...gangbangers...should all be locked up and either charged under RICO OR under domestic terrorism laws.
"It's death penalty time yo."
Take our streets back from the thugs and urban gangsters.
However, speaking with a different dialect should NOT be a crime.
OP is racist.
Not dialect...talking 'gangsta'...
Are you one of these idiots?
didnt CA try to get people to teach ebonics in school claiming it was a dialect or some crap
ebonics is a dialect, rooted in history no less so than Anglo-Saxon derivations of old, middle, and modern English.
FYI: ebonics is not "gangsta talk." It's very similar to a lot of the Caribbean forms of English adopted by the indigenous populations. One who discredits ebonics as a dialect really has no business speaking modern English, as the etymology of the two is practically the same.
A lot of people have adopted terms from ebonics to use in their daily talk, such as "ax." Belittling someone's cultural history is pretty lame, to be honest. you can sit here and say "WTF? 'ax' isn't a fucking word! what a dumbshit ignorant asshole to talk like that!" In fact, the ignorant asshole is the person belittling them for reflecting a strongly native cultural history.
I'm not saying that everyone who uses such terms do it b/c they want to acknowledge this history, but the history is there. Also not saying it should be offered as a second language in schools, but it should be presented as one. A part of history, something cultural that very few minorities are exposed to in our system.
