What's bad about waffle fries? All you have to do is make sure they're crispy. If they're underseasoned, throw a bit of salt on them (preferably seasoning salt). A lot better than regular fries.

That's the issue. I think a lot of places rush the process, or don't use hot enough grease because a lot of time they aren't crispy. that includes Chik-fil-A. I never know what kind of fry I'm going to get when I go there.

The problem is they don't always turn out crisp an delicious like those. I'm probably around 40% for great waffle fries. A lot of times they're limp, and greaselogged.

Sounds like most fries of ANY size / shape at fast food / restaurants. Most people can't cook fries.

PS, Chik-fil-A makes them limp.

What? If I had one wish, it's that every singe restaurant would have waffle fries. They're the best style of fries out there. The holes in them ensure maximum oil coverage and it makes them crispy all over. How can you dislike that? OP fails so fucking hard.

Do you have a long list of restaurants with waffle fries that are great you can share with us?

Waffle fries are decently good IMO.

I hate "steak fries" ... generally, my opinion of fries is related to the surface area to mass ratio.

The higher the ratio, the better the fries :)

The thing is, I'm never had a limp waffle fry. I've been to plenty of places that couldn't get regular or steak fries crispy though.

When I was in Junior High I worked at a restaurant that served waffle fries. They were freaking awesome. I rarely see them these days, but when they are cooked properly they are quite good. Not a huge fry guy in general, but I did like those waffle fries back in the day.

This is my problem with them, they're almost never crisp enough, and this does include the ones @ Chik-fil-A, a place that normally does things right.

I took my wife out on Monday and we ate fish and chips. the fish was great but it was served with waffle fries. Why do restaurants sell waffle fries? have you ever been to a restaurant with good or great waffle fries? I have not in my 35 years. I cannot name one good restaurant that serves good waffle fries.

Am I alone in my disdain for waffle fries? Is it time to outlaw them?

You're lucky. The last time I ventured at fish and chips I got a fish sandwich and actual potato chips (crisps).

Christ's sake.

Personally, I like Carl's Jr. waffle fries more than Chic-Fil-A waffle fries. Carl's Jr. puts more seasoning in their waffle fries. Yum.

Carl's Jr. waffle fries ("Criss cut") are waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay better than their regular fries.

Chik fil A's waffle fries are good.

This x100.

I've never had other waffle fries that were good, but CFA is good enough to get me there just because I'm craving the fries.

Strangely, I rarely ate at CFA for a long time and only got tasteless fries that didn't seem to have any salt, so it was years before I discovered how they were supposed to taste. Now, they're usually perfect and well-salted almost every time.

You, sir, are a heathen. Break out the tar and feathers.

I'd for sure go on a murder spree of Bateluer if Tex Mex was outlawed. I would be unable to live without burritos, nachos, and quesadillas.

What kind of sick person are you Bateleur? Why do you hate the delishus?
