Teenager who befriends an elderly man... That won't fly in today's world.

Really? I've always considered the second to be the weakest. Same format as Transformers - first one was fantastic, second was dumb, third was at least better than the second. Plus it was kind of fun to do it Western-style for funsies.
First Transformers fantastic? Well compared to the rest I'm sure but none of them are actually good movies. I don't know how people can watch past the second one.

1 was dumb but entertaining (and importantly, not insultingly stupid).
2 was a dingleberry plucked straight from Tartarus' hemorrhoids.
3 was stupid but almost decent.
4 was 2 all over again.

I was done after 2, but got drug to 3 and 4 by family.

I loved the first one. I was embarrassed by the second one. The third one was over the top...like you said, almost decent. The fourth one was loads better than two & three combined...but it went on forever, and they killed the funny guy as soon as you realized he was the only redeeming character in the movie

Fun movies and interesting subjects.

Pretty lame attempt at a Troll Thread though. The kind of Troll that was epic in the early years of the Internets, but now is something everyone recognizes immediately....

BTW, I guess they were going to use a fridge? as the time machine, but they figured kids would jump inside refrigerators. This is by memory from some 20 years ago.

That didn't stop Indiana Jones from jumping into the fridge to avoid a nuke. :)

Yes, yes you should. It's always a good time to watch the BTTF trilogy.

The third one always gets a lot of flack. It's certainly the weakest but it's still a fun movie.
That settles it, I'll watch all three this month. Thanks for the prompting.

Edit: Reading on in the thread I found out that they made BTTF#4... I had no idea. After I watch 1,2&3, should I watch 4? *cringes*

I like the time travel thing because this is how I keep up with furnace reviews.

There is no 4th. They were discussing 4 transformers movies.

Which brings up Indiana Jones. I liked all of them but Crystal Skull? Not so much.

I was onboard until the Transformers kid started swinging with the monkeys on the vine. Totally took me out of the movie. That fit more in Tarzan than in an Indiana Jones movie.

Also, the ending was lame. Half expected Scully to be nearby looking the other way and saying "what UFO's? what aliens, Mulder?" :p

Still a crappy movie. Everyone gets defensive about this old movie. Why is that?

You asked people to explain why they liked it and they have, while you're not even trying to do anything but repeat how much you hate it, say things about it that are wrong or don't make sense, and just keep trolling.

Taste in movies is subjective. No one should blame you for not liking a movie that is popular. That's perfectly fine. On the other hand, it's stupid to go around telling everyone they're wrong for liking it.

Would love to see which movies the OP liked.

Back to the Future was an awesome trilogy for its time.

I agree, how could people hate on it?

The first is an all time classic. It's a good mix of a nice plot, comedy, love story and action.

The second is interesting. I remember being blown away when I saw it as a kid but for obvious reasons it has not aged all that great. It's not quite as light hearted as the first. It still has a great plot and many many memorable things (hoverboard, sports almanac, 80s bar, etc..).

The third is decent but not on the same level as the other 2. People forget that a large chunk of the movie did not take place in the wild west. A couple of things that stand out: The train scene near the end of the, wake up juice and the high noon scene between Marty & Biff. I REALLY did hate the ending though
