Why do people use AOL

I do not know why anyone would subscribe to AOL, I mean really AOL does not mean American On-Line just because you are American does not mean you should use this. (That and compuserve is AOL) In my opinion AOL is a virus:

Here is why

1) over 600 registry edits

2) Literally slows down system and internet connection

3) AOL = Spyware

4) It is just too DAMN expensive

Dont get me wrong I am sure for newbies and people who only understand "keyword" rather than typing www.webpage.com AOL, Compuserve may verywell be good. But once you know how to use the internet, why keep using it. your phone company can do the same service for 1/2 the price without installing any additional software......

I think once people start using AOL they get brainwashed. I have some people in my family that use it and I keep telling them AOL sucks but they dont listen.

Why do you care if other people use AOL? If it makes you feel like your superior then go ahead. why someones choice of software would make anyone feel that way is beyond me.

It bothers me as much as people downloading beta software and wonder why their system is all goofed up. I feel bad for people who don't know their options or peoples misunderstandings on how to use technology

My dad used to AOL then we got cable modem(thank god) and haven't used aol since...


But I have a fear with the Time Warner/AOL merger will be forced to use AOL content?

THAT WOULD REALLY SUCK...

a friends of mines computer was having problems even after several formats but after he quit using AOl boom his problems just melted away.....

AOL=BSOD

AOL is just bad but they have media on there side....

Where I work used to use AOL for roaming employees, but now it has changed to a local provider... maybe some day over the rainbow AOl will die....

AOL is easy for most people. Lots of their friends use it so they can send email back and forth with pretty things on it I guess. They dont know better.
