Because you alude to the fact that people don't handle their tax withholdings properly (having too much taken out of their paychecks, if they get a typical paycheck).

Only people I can think of that would need an accountant would be some one who is in the stock market, like my dad...

I feel people are incredibly stupid when it comes to money management, I see people get their tax refunds back all the time and they ALWAYS spend it either via vacation or buying random/stupid sh1t, I just don't get it.. YOU'RE NOT ACTUALLY EARNING/WINNING MONEY, YOU'RE SIMPLY GETTING SOME MONEY BACK THAT YOU PAID TO THE GOVT DURING FILING!:frown:

If this is how you're going to spend your money every time you have a few dollars left over, maybe you don't deserve this tax refund and it probably would be better in the government's hands...

Wow, aside from being a douchebag, you are stupid too.

Right, because the first thing one should do when they recieve a large sum of money (you're not really earning money, you're just getting your money back) is spend it! I'm sure if they recieved their money in small payments like they do their paycheck, they'd be less likely to waste it. Seems like you're the kind of moron that'd do this...

Are you really that stupid?

Most people look at it as a way to save money without having to try. (even if they dont' realize it) At the end of the year they get the money from their "CD" with 0 interest, and then have that money saved up for the vacation they were planning, or that new toy they wanted.

If they made it through the year, without going further into debt, and still get money back, that means they saved money, and are able to spend it or put it in whatever area they wish.

Um, do you really believe that, or are you just bullsh!tting, or just that inexperienced?

Many, if not a majority of people, have an accountant that does their taxes. Not everyone just gets their w2 and files. Many people have complicated filings.

Anybody that ever says that maybe the government should get more of our money is stupid. Honestly, it's my goddamn money, I'll do whatever the hell I want with it. This year, its going toward college. 🙁

Most people I know, they could file their own taxes, just that they're too lazy to do so... Thats just my experience anyways, maybe more people have complicated taxes than I thought but for the most part, people I know are just too lazy to do it themselves....

Overwithholding is a government-enforced savings account for the financially stupid.

Hmm, didn't think about that, but yea I'm sure that'd fit the bill for needing an accountant...

My taxes are complicated and I could probably file them if I took the time. But I have an accountant whos job it is to know tax law back and forth and be able to maximize my yearly filing.
