I feel people are incredibly stupid when it comes to money management, I see people get their tax refunds back all the time and they ALWAYS spend it either via vacation or buying random/stupid sh1t, I just don't get it.. YOU'RE NOT ACTUALLY EARNING/WINNING MONEY, YOU'RE SIMPLY GETTING SOME MONEY BACK THAT YOU PAID TO THE GOVT DURING FILING!:frown:

If this is how you're going to spend your money every time you have a few dollars left over, maybe you don't deserve this tax refund and it probably would be better in the government's hands...

Oh yeah... because the government is all about fiscal responsibility, setting budgets, and living within your means.

I say let people spend their tax refunds on WTH they want...

FTW. or file that one form (1004?) that sets the ammount of taxes taken out of your pay check so you don't lend the gov't your money at no interest for a year.

For the same reason they are happy when the refund is larger... nothing like providing Uncle Sam with an intrest-free loan to put a smile on your face!

Ah the crafty government and tax withholding, one of the greatest schemes ever created.

If they quit withholding and EVERYONE had to pay quarterly taxes, I mean actually write a check and do the paperwork every quarter there would be an immediate revolt.

Now they have set it up as a reward system, every year people people rush to get the 1040 filed to see how big their "reward" is.

No, actually I think tax witholding is a minor scheme. The Federal Reserve System is one of the greatest schemes ever created. Can you guess what tax the federal reserve levies? Probably not 1 in a 100 can. ;)

Hell, probably not even 1 in 50 knows what the federal reserve is or what it does.

?

WTF?
How is this relevant?
???WTF???
Because you alude to the fact that people don't handle their tax withholdings properly (having too much taken out of their paychecks, if they get a typical paycheck).

I never said major or minor scheme, just one of the greatest.

And you are correct, I am one of the 99.

The people who get the biggest tax refunds are usually the people who contributed the least.

So it's only fair that they return this money to the retail channel instead of saving it and making a better life for themselves and their bastard offspring.

Yeah, I'm not bitter about being a rediculously high tax bracket.

If large amounts of people do it, then it's benefitting the economy as a whole in the short term, correct?

Money is only worth as much as someone says its worth. Hell, if you're charasmatic enough to convince someone that a $1 bill is worth more than a $100 then more power to you.
