Who do you know that spend $110,000 on a wedding? 😕

when my sister got married, the wedding costed around $150,000. my brother-in-law paid for the whole thing, and he was more than able to pay for it at the time. they rented the entire country club (one in downtown San Jose, CA) for the reception, complete with 2 full bars, live band.... the works. then they went on a 8-week long honeymoon that went all over Europe. i mentioned it in another thread, my sister's engagement ring is insured at $75,000.

was it extravagant? perhaps... but he was more than able to pay for it, and he loved her so much that he did all this, and then some (you have no idea how much he spoiled my sister before and after the marriage). my sister never asked for any of this, he just wanted to sweep her off her feet, sorta speak. me and my sister come from a poor family, and my family was just speechless during the whole thing.

when, and if, i get married, there's no way i'll be able to buy an engagement ring that even comes close to what my sister got. but paraphrasing Skoorb's words, i'm not about to get into a contest that i'm not going to win.

All I can say is DAMN!

Because they can, basically. I was just at a wedding and a rough estimate is that the wedding cost easily 6 figures. Heck, the festivities went on for over 3 days so there was lots of money blown.

I do have to say though, that the food there was probably the best wedding food I ever had...I should have brought a cooler 🙂

Ai yo :Q, you're losing your touch. It must be the weather.

My sister is getting married mid-July and I think she's insane for spending 30k on her wedding. She should have a wedding that isn't as expensive and save the rest of the money for a house. :disgust:
