Why do people sign up for fantasy sports pools and then never go back?

I started a pool for hockey with 12 members. 3 of them haven't logged in for over a month. They missed the draft, draft results and the first week of competition. Why would they sign up if they don't want to play in the pool?

Well, I did pretty much that in last year's hockey pool (although I did do the draft and the first two weeks)... I just found that I didn't have the time to micromanage a fantasy hockey pool, but didn't realize it before I signed up. Thus, I did not participate this year, even though I am the biggest NHL fan on these boards. 😛

sorry i'm guilty of this in the baseball ones... i thought i would have the time and desire, but things changed.

I hear that... i just started a pool with friends, and 7 out of 8 of us are playing for money, well the 8th person (who we originally werent gonna let play) basically convinced my budyd to let her in, but go figure she plays one week and quits. So now I'm pissed, because I can't win her $20 🙁

quitters suck, altho i did just that for my fantasy basketball last year.. ^^;;
still, quitters suck and i'll try to redeem myself this year ^^

I can understand that. If you want to win, then a daily pick pool will take at least a couple of minutes a day sometimes a lot more. But 3 people haven't even tried to play the pool. They haven't logged in since late august or early september. They missed the draft and then haven't even switched their players for the first week's competition.
