1. i cleared the sidewalk from front door to city sidewalk -the delivery man can use that.
2. the postman goes to a common place or they can use the sidewalk

3. even with 12" or more snow my SAV has never stuck in the snow ....

and dear Rival: please Shut up! your momma looks like a south end of a horse going north! (just heard this the other day and had to use it ... hehehe)

because if you have a low car you get stuck

and if you drive over it, it compacts and eventually turns to ice and you slip on your arse.

<--had to shovel 90" so far this winter ...... time for a snowblower

Ayup.

And, shovel the sidewalk and you don't track snow/slush into the house or your car.

also if you wait till all the snow falls then it becomes a B1TCH to clear all that damn snow.

its usually better to do it twice or three times if it falls alot..

people shovel their driveways so their cars don't get stuck.

do yourself a favor and shovel your driveway.....especially if your driveway is inclined.

You should still shovel it. Any more than an inch and you're asking for complications with most vehicles (High set trucks can get away with 3 inches)

Because if a delivery person slips and falls on your driveway (or the sidewalk in front of your house), they will sue your @ss and win...

not only just for your car.. but for yourself and anyone else walking up your driveway.. snow gets very slippery and icy after its all fallen.

Edit: Also.. most cities have an ordinance that you MUST shovel your sidewalks within a certain amount of hours of the snowfall otherwise they can cite you (fine you).

What kind of weak ass trucks are you driving that get stuck in 3 inchs of snow. Well what car can't take an inch. The reason to shovel a driveway is that your to cheap to get a snowblower or plow. The snow will compact and then turn to ice and you will have to wieght for it to melt to get ride of it.

The actual clearance amount is a CRAPLOAD higher than I cited. That's just the point where most people lose the ability to drive. Any more than an inch should be cleared because it compacts and turns into that godawful ice.

Don't tell me you have an X5 and actually call it a SAV. Face it, it's a tall station wagon.

Just wieght until your 12" of snow turns into 3 inchs of ice and you pull into drive way a little fast and can't stop on the ice so you end up hitting your house.

Unshoveled snow melts to slush. You merrily drive over it leaving nice tracks.
Overnight, temperature drops. Slush becomes ice.

Enjoy driving on that.

4.6is here

Watch the first freeze thaw cycle when it all turns into ice and shovelling becomes impossible.

What if a friend comes over that drives a car?
What happens when its Spring and you have compacted sheets of ice still stuck on your drive?
What happens when the snow creates and ice jam into your garage and your garage gets full of water?
What happens when you have to replace the concrete in your drive 10 years before you should have to?
What happens when someone slips and falls?

lol

anyways, you'll end up with a nice layer of ice from driving over it many times over and over again. Besides, not shoveling it says "look at me, I don't give a crap about my house"

All the AWD and snow tires in the world aren't gonna save you when your driveway turns into one gigantic ice sheet and your vehicle can't stop on it. It's not magic. That kind of attitude is what lands many SUV drivers in the ditch on snowy days.
