Why do people say "all cats are grey in the dark"?

It irritates me, because you know what the person looks like and you have to be sexually attracted to them to want to get in their pants, don't you? (OK, maybe some people imagine being with other people, that is plausible, not that i can do that).

And what, do these people only have sex in dark places?

or the person can simply mean that details don't really matter as long as you pay no attention to it (thus "in the dark", where you can't see)

maybe it's just your mind in the gutter.

Neither have I.

But if you want a really cool experiment. Go into a completely dark room with a camera flash. Flash the flash and don't move your eyes, a black/white image of what you were looking at will appear.

Well it seems, Thomas Lodge said it back around 1600.

But he also said, "Love, in my bosom, like a bee, Doth suck his sweet; Now with his wings he plays with me, Now with his feet."
