I'm in LA for about a week now, and have actually seen more Ferraris and Vipers than I've seen Hummers. Maybe about 7 Ferraris, 2 Vipers, and 3 Hummers. Actually saw a 360 Spider at Ralph's the other day too.

But regardless, it's dumb to single it out simply on numbers..the concept is still the same.

Sorry about the poor english, I'm really tried =\

Yeah, no one who buys a Ferrari intends on looking cool

That may be a small portion of area along with high chance. If you look at the US as a whole, hummers are driven to go grocery shopping more than a ferrari is.

Some do, some don't. But the fact of the matter is, many of those people have earned their way up to buying and if you look at the majority, they don't buy it just to look cool, they buy it because its something they've wanted.

Those are highly suspiscious claims. And the Kyoto claim is pure BS. Completely unsupportable.

And it's a fact that the vast majority of pollution from automobiles comes from the small portion of old clunkers on the road. One poorly-maintained oil-burner easily puts out more pollutants than 20 new SUV's.

As with the statement above yours, I see zero relevancy to the fact that Ferraris are gas hogs, greenhouse gas polluters, and why is it that people don't condemn them as much as they do Hummers.

I agree with you. I think all states should have emmision (sp?) regulations. Alabama does not and it lets clunkers and old old trashed out cars fly around on the road.

Those F-350's are just as bad. No one criticizes them. I still don't see how an F-350 is better than an F-250 if you are not pulling anything. What are you carrying, Titanium bricks?

you dont pull trailers *all* the time.

tell me, how often have you towed a 26 foot trailer? 12,000 lbs? flat walled, in high cross-wind?

with a 78 F-150? :D

the extra weight of the f-350 and the more sturdy chassis is a godsend for people who use it. but still, you dont use it all the time.

Well yeah I agree that an F-350 is nice for it's intended purpose, but where i live (Texas), it's just like an everyday car for some people. Heck even college students drive em.

you can't get a tax break on a ferrari:p

we are subsidizing many of those hummers with tax money.

they are disproportionatly dangerous to other drivers then normal vehicles.,.. inconsiderate vehicles basically

gas consumption.... ...so bad. they are held to truck emission standards, not cars:p

Where? Around here, SUV's meet the same emission standards that cars do, up to 8500 GVW, which I don't think an H2 reaches. You need a 3/4 ton truck to exceed that GVW.

Here in the Daytona bch. area we have NO inspections at all..I get behind a lot of smoke-bombs
on the way to work. Typically, if your driving an '87 lebaron you just run it till it croaks.
The first time I saw a Hummer I coulden't belive how big it was, it looked like a converted
shrimp boat. I wonder what other generations 100's of years from now will think when
someone digs up a hummer...........

dont bitch about the vehicle, bitch about the driver.

we have an excursion, and some a$$hole bitches about excursions cause dumb SUV-bitches drive em... the same SUV-bitches piss me off, but we use our excursion, and have need of it, (towing on vacation with family) so dont bitch about the vehicle, bitch about the person who doesnt drive it for it's intended purpose.

and i drive an 84 camry. so i have every right to bitch about my vehicle :D

If peoples complaint abou the SUV is strictly environmental I think people should be more concerned over such things as drag racing and Nascar which use an absurd amount of gasoline, at less than 4 miles per gallon!

Most people don't understand why states either have or don't have emission regulations... The EPA/Gov has set standards for air quality around the country. In locations that don't meet these standards, new industrial projects that will generate emissions, such as factories or power plants, must go through a much more strict review and permitting process. One way that states (or counties) control their air quality is by having vehicle inspections. The state is inspecting your vehicle because it is economically more feasible or beneficial to have vehicle inspections than it is to lose potential industrial development or to force current industry to retro-fit their emission producing units.

So, remember, the state doesn't have vehicle inspections for your sake.

Ferraris/Lamborghinis/Vipers when they see one? Cars which get even worse gas mileage than Hummers do?
I have seen two lamborghinis in my life and about 4 ferraris. I've seen maybe 10 vipers. So, that's your answer. In the pure sense it's hypocrisy, but in the practical sense nobody owns those exotics anyway.
