Why do people put those ugly white decals on their windshields?

You know, the one's that say, "Kenwood," "Acura," or "Nike," etc.

What up with that?

The only functional reason I can think of is to block the sun.

Other than that they usually look quite cheap & obnoxious.

They're polar opposites...the one is showing good taste, the other is showing NO taste.

(no taste=having them, good taste=hating them)

Because they want us to know they drive a Toyota, despite the huge white Toyota logo sprawled across the hood and sides of the doors.

I don't mind it in some cases. When I see a Mustang with a Steeda, Roush or Saleen sticker, I usually pay more attention to it.

So who decides something is good taste or not?

An exception to the rule.

I prefer first names of boyfriends and girlfriends in CB call mailbox style letters on the back window, along with Latino surnames in Roman Gothic. I guess it's a status thing.

ROFL! I just moved from a predominately Hispanic city. All these POS cars driving around with "Gonzales" or Sanchez" on the back window. Oh yeah, you've narrowed that down a bit...to like, 75 pages in the phone book!

A lot of them are stupid, like the ones with massive lettering.

My friend drives a heavily modded RX-7. No, not riced out, modded. All mods except the decals are under the hood. :) He has: OCZ Racing and Venom in small letters on top of front windshield

I have seen a big Nike sign in the back window of a truck... I mean who would think that looks cool?
