Why do people purposely mis-spell certain companies, or omit web sites?

Was wondering why when people post things, they purposely mis-spell things like 'Phat Walet' and such. Is there a rule around here I'm missing? I didn't see it, but it seems to be prevalent. Someone please explain this to me?
